The clothing manufacturer “My Company” settled in Hamburg, Germany, distributes his product “winter coat” world-wide in the northern regions and in Australia. Sales offices are in Hamburg, Germany; Ottawa, Kanada; Illinois, USA; Horsham, Australia and in Hong Kong, Asia. The manufactory of the products takes place in the Czech Republic in the little town Klatovi.

To win a request for proposal from the German Military the bidder has to prove an implemented and working Information Security Management System and has to show that the German Data Privacy Act is respected.

The story is fictive.

Responsible for the ISMS and the Privacy are the Information Security Officer (CISO) and the Privacy Officer (CPO). No one else. They report directly to the management of the company. They have an assistant, an IT professional from the internal IT department.

In every sales office one employee is responsible for implementation, documentation and maintaining the ISMS/DPMS.

The DPO assigns your own Data Privacy rules or the standard you have to respect:

a) For variable information we use text fields for the documentation (e.g. “Contact”, “Responsible is”, “Location”).
b) For permanent information we use text modules (e.g. “Data type”, “Data recipient”, “Data subject”).
